… and how to ride a coat-tail. (If you only came for the pictures, here.)
Riding a coat-tail, of course, means profiting from someone else’s efforts. Some people think this is a “sleazy” way to take advantage of a trend and capitalize on it while others think it’s the easiest way to get closer to the top. In reality it may be neither but in both ways it’s the height of capitalism.
Your marketing strategy is your own. Regardless of your goals and the information and resources you have to work with it is up to you to act in the manner you decide. This entire post is to encourage everyone to seek trustworthy advice and consultation to help achieve your goals. The reason I used Britney’s 30th birthday is threefold:
- It’s Britney’s birthday so I’m capitalizing on that
- She went through a tough time where she would not take advice from seasoned veterans
- We all make mistakes but most of us recover from them – at least to some degree
The truth is many “SEO experts” really aren’t. The other part of that truth is you can do as well on your own with just a little coaching as you could by paying a mediocre provider. Do your research. Find a trusted authority to help you. Come back and share your success!
